Hip Dysplasia: Jordan
May 19, 2026
I first heard about Dr. Salata through a family friend who had a procedure with him. When I met with both Michael Salata, MD and Robert Wetzel, MD, they gave me the confidence to move forward with a PAO – and I’m so glad I did.
From the beginning, we built a strong connection. They really took the time to understand my concerns and made it clear they cared about my entire journey, not just the surgery.
I had my first PAO last year and immediately felt relief – I knew it was the right decision. This year, I had my right hip done and recovered incredibly fast. As a senior and college cheerleader at the University of Cincinnati, getting back to my sport means everything to me.
Injuries are tough, both mentally and physically, but their support made all the difference. The communication throughout the process was amazing. Surgery can feel overwhelming, but having a team – from the PAs to the surgeons – who are so connected and supportive was incredibly beneficial.
My recovery has gone really well. I worked with Kaylee at the UH Drusinsky Sports Medicine Institute for physical therapy before heading back to school, and she even connected directly with my physical therapist at the University of Cincinnati to ensure a smooth transition in care. That level of coordination meant so much.
I’m looking forward to competing at nationals in January, and based on my recovery so far, I feel confident and hopeful.
Lastly, my most recent surgery at UH Beachwood Medical Center was an unbelievable experience. The nurses were truly the best – I couldn’t have imagined it going any better. Our family was blown away by the level of care.
I would absolutely recommend Dr. Salata, Dr. Wetzel, and the entire team.
