The newly organized Division of Pediatric Allergy, Immunology & Rheumatology at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital recently welcomed Princess Ogbogu, MD, as the inaugural chief and Joao Pedro (JP) Lopes, MD who joins Kathryn Ruda Wessell to the academic faculty team. Rounding out the allergy/immunology team are community providers including Eli Silver, MD, Nancy Wasserbauer Kingston, DO, Samuel Friedlander, MD and Dawn Zacharias, MD. This well coordinated team specializes in treating children and adults with allergic and immunologic diseases. Our physicians, nurses and other experts work to diagnose, treat and manage these diverse conditions.
University Hospitals experts in the area of pediatric and adult allergy & immunology treat infants, children, adolescents and adults with full complement of allergic and immunologic conditions through convenient clinics within the community.
Conditions include:
- Environmental allergies (allergic rhinitis, conjunctivitis)

- Food, drug, latex and venom (insect sting) allergies
- Eczema
- Urticaria and angioedema
- Anaphylaxis
- Immunodeficiency diseases

- Skin and blood testing for allergies

- Desensitization procedures
