David Mansur, MD, Vice Chair of UH Proton Therapy Center and Division Chief of Radiation Oncology at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, discusses the basics of radiation oncology emphasizing proton therapy, how it differs from traditional radiation treatment and why it can offer advantages in treating children, teens and adults with cancers of the brain, spine, lung, breast, head and neck and others. The UH Seidman Cancer Center and UH Rainbow Babies & Children's at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center opened Ohio’s fist proton therapy center in the summer of 2016.
