David Mansur, MD, is Associate professor of radiation oncology and pediatrics and Director of Pediatric and Hematologic Radiation Oncology at University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center and UH Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital. He is also Vice Chair for Proton Therapy in the department of radiation oncology.
Dr. Mansur is board certified in radiation oncology. His special interest is pediatric and adult brain tumor management, lymphoma, leukemia, sarcoma, skin cancer and proton beam radiation therapy. He joined UH Seidman Cancer Center’s hospital staff in 2012.
Dr. Mansur’s research interest is adult and pediatric leukemia including total body irradiation and targeted marrow irradiation. He has published over sixty peer-reviewed articles and book chapters about adult and pediatric oncology and is a reviewer for the International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, Physics and for Radiotherapy and Oncology. He also is a frequent presenter and speaker on radiation oncology at local, regional and national medical meetings and conferences. He is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Proton Therapy.
He is a member of the Children’s Oncology Group Radiation Oncology Committee.
Dr. Mansur graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of California at Santa Cruz. He earned his medical degree from the University of University of Kansas School of Medicine. He served his radiation oncology residency at the University of Chicago, where he received the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology & Oncology Research Fellowship award.

At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized. In addition, we disclose payments to employed practitioners of $5,000 or more from companies with which the practitioners interact as part of their professional activities. These practitioner-industry relationships assist in developing new drugs, devices and therapies and in providing medical education aimed at improving quality of care and enhancing clinical outcomes. At the same time, UH understands that these relationships may create a conflict of interest. In providing this information, UH desires to assist patients in talking with their practitioners about industry relationships and how those relationships may impact their medical care.
UH practitioners seek advance approval for certain new industry relationships. In addition, practitioners report their industry relationships and activities, as well as those of their immediate family members, to the UH Office of Outside Interests annually. We review these reports and implement management plans, as appropriate, to address conflicts of interest that may arise in connection with medical research, clinical care and purchasing decisions.
