UH Seidman Physicians Staff Have Strong Presence at International Cancer Education

The 2017 International Cancer Education Conference (ICEC) held in Cleveland Sept. 13-15 brought together 261 educators, physicians, nurses, public health professionals, researchers, students and social workers from around the country and the world. These professionals represented more than 25 NCI-designated cancer centers in the United States and professionals from Canada, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa.

Stan Gerson, MD, presented the opening plenary session, “A Cancer Center View of Cancer Education,” highlighting the unique collaborative of the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center.

University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center was the premiere sponsor of the ICEC special event dinner at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, where Vice President of Operations Linda Mangosh welcomed attendees and music therapist Samuel Rodgers-Melnick provided a fun, informative and interactive ice breaker showcasing the benefits of music for cancer patients.

• Oral Abstract Presentation by Katie Hepper, Nurse Partner Oncologic Surgery - Implementing and Assessing the Impact of Multimedia Patient Education for Whipple Surgery
