Our Services
Our specialists develop the best rehabilitation plans based on how a patient’s needs change over time. Each plan is built around the patient’s medical condition, physical capabilities, age and other important factors.
Our services include:
- Rehabilitation planning: Working with therapy teams to identify and coordinate the most appropriate rehabilitation programs.
- Braces and equipment: Prescribing braces or equipment to support development as well as mobility at home and in the community.
- Patient and family support: Supporting patients and families as they work toward daily goals, such as: Building independence with self-care skills.
- Managing school or work needs to improve quality of life.
- Prevention of pressure ulcers.
- Participation in sports or other recreational activities.
- Evaluating and treating condition-related issues: We help manage various condition-related health concerns, including:
- High tone (increased muscle tightness).
- Low tone (loose muscles).
Conditions We Help Manage
We care for pediatric patients with conditions that can cause impaired functioning, including acquired and traumatic injuries, congenital and developmental disorders, and cancer. Conditions in which Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine may be a part of your care team include:
- Anoxic brain injury
- Arthrogryposis
- Achondroplasia
- Brachial plexus injury
- Cancer, including brain, spinal cord and bone tumors, in addition to other oncologic diagnoses.

- First, we talk with you and your child to learn about their condition and how it affects their day to day life.
- Second, we discuss goals and how their needs may change as they grow.
- Based on these discussions, we create a care plan that includes the most appropriate therapies and treatments.
- We update the plan over time as your child’s needs change.
