Speech Therapy Helps Children Improve Communication at Home and School

Pediatric speech-language pathologists at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, provide assessment and treatment of speech and language disorders for children of all ages.

After assessing children with communication problems, our skilled speech-language pathologists work closely with each child and family to address individualized goals which may include improving language use and comprehension, vocal quality, clarity of speech, and safe feeding and swallowing. Our speech-language pathologists involve parents and family members in helping their child to succeed by providing education and instruction in home programs.

An Interdisciplinary, Team Approach to Treatment

Our pediatric speech-language pathologists work closely with other UH pediatric specialists such as gastroenterologists, neurologists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, audiologists, pulmonologists and cardiologists in a team approach, addressing each child’s unique needs. We provide outpatient services at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and in the outlying community.
