- How many PGY1 positions are available?

There are three positions available.
- How many residents are currently in the program?

There are currently 19 residents and two Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery fellows.
- What criteria are used to select urology residents?
-
Applicants are carefully considered based on a variety of factors including: academic performance, research experience, dedication to the field and potential as a future contributor/leader, letters/words of recommendation from other urologists, personality, fit and teach-ability.
- How many clinical training sites are there?
-
There are three major clinical training sites with several community affiliates for operative cases. Given the diverse locations of rotations it is highly recommended that residents have a car.
- What office-based urology procedures will I be trained to do?
-
You will be trained to complete cystoscopy, prostate US and biopsy, vasectomy, circumcision, urodynamic interpretation.
- What do most of the residents do after residency?
-
Most residents transition to pursue fellowship training or enter private practice.
- Is there a Night Float system?
-
Yes; on the UH rotation, a night float system is implemented.
- Is there clinical support for residents caring for inpatients?
-
Yes; we have two full-time APP’s at UH to assist with patient care and bedside assisting in the OR.
