Fellows are paid according to their level of training.
PGY 4: $71,400

Money is available for books, journal subscriptions, conference travel and some medical equipment (e.g. stethoscopes).
Every fellow receives four weeks of vacation per year.
The fellows and residents have a newly refurbished lounge that has a flat screen TV, Nintendo Wii, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and water cooler.
Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) Affiliation
All fellows are provided affiliation with Case Western Reserve University. This includes access to gym facilities, libraries and email. This can also get you discounted admission to places like the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
As part of the Case Western Reserve University affiliation, all fellows have free access to the Veale Center gymnasium and athletic facilities. The available facilities include a cardio training room, weight lifting room, swimming pool, racquetball courts, squash courts, climbing wall, basketball courts, indoor track and tennis courts. The Veale Center is located across the street from University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. CWRU also has a private fitness center, also located across the street from UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. Discounted memberships are available to fellows.
There are two medical plans to choose from, thus allowing each fellow to choose the plan that best fits them. Health insurance is available to employees who are regularly scheduled to work at least 16 hours per week. Coverage is effective the first day of the month coinciding with or following your employment date.
Dental coverage is available, and covered services can be obtained in or out of the network. The plan provides coverage for preventive, basic and major restorative services. Your monthly contribution is payroll deducted on a pre-tax basis. Coverage is effective the first day of the month coinciding with or following your employment date.
Policy on Hiring Non-Tobacco Users
University Hospitals is committed to the health and wellness of our employees, our patients and our community. As part of these efforts, effective January 1, 2012, we will only hire candidates that do not use tobacco products. All candidates will be required to confirm their non-tobacco use when expressing interest for a job opportunity. Selected candidates for hire will be tested for tobacco use as part of the pre-employment lab screening process already in place.

Professional personnel are covered by the hospital at no cost.
403(b) Matched Retirement Savings Plan: All employees are eligible to contribute to the 403(b) Matched Retirement Savings Plan. Employees with one year of service who have worked at least 1,000 hours are eligible to receive a match. University Hospitals will match 50 percent of the first 6 percent of your contributions. Money the hospital contributes (matched contributions) is 100 percent vested after three years of service.
