Clinical Services for Children from Birth to Young Adults
The division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital provides leading-edge ambulatory and inpatient care for children from birth to young adulthood as well as a broad scope of additional clinical services from child abuse advocacy to child health policy and ongoing clinical research.
Faculty members teach medical students at the Case Western Reserve University leading-edge acute and chronic illness care in an academic health center at the UH Rainbow Center for Women & Children in Midtown Cleveland. Here doctors provide comprehensive, team-based care for children – newborn to 20 years, child abuse consultations, diagnostic ‘second opinion’ consultations, care for minors of the Cuyahoga County juvenile court system, sports medicine, and global pediatric health.
The care is designed to be community-centered care and integratively address medical, social, and environmental factors influencing health, and to take a collaborative approach with patients and community stakeholders to address health disparities.

The UH Rainbow Center for Women & Children provides comprehensive, team-based care for children – newborn to 20 years in a pediatric group practice set within an urban academic health center in Midtown Cleveland. The services include pediatric primary care, same-day sick appointments, Saturday hours, dental screening and cleaning, full-service eye clinic, a nurse on call – 24 hours/day and CenteringParenting® – group newborn care. Care is provided by general pediatricians, pediatric nurse practitioners, dietitians, social workers, and pediatric residents to meet the families' total health needs in one convenient health center.
