Unique Fetal Heart Procedure Reverses Effects of HLHS

Members of the Congenital Heart Collaborative, a unique affiliation between University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s and UH MacDonald Women’s hospitals in Cleveland, and Nationwide Children’s Hospital (Columbus), offer in utero fetal heart procedures to reverse the devastating effects of hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS). This integrated team is the only one in Ohio to offer fetal cardiac interventions to treat severe aortic stenosis, HLHS with intact or highly restrictive atrial septum, and pulmonary atresia with intact ventricular septum.
