Education Schedule

Departmental System-wide Conferences

Resident Education

  • Wednesdays, 8:00-10:15 am

Didactics are led by residents as well as faculty. We follow the SCORE curriculum to prepare our residents to manage complex patients and to perform well on board and in-service exams.

Grand Rounds

  • Fourth Wednesday of the month, 7-8 am
  • Currently hybrid. Will resume in Kulas Auditorium when possible.
  • Grand Rounds is followed by a a case conference and career development program with the residents and visiting professor.

Journal Club

  • Meetings are once a month, 7-9 pm
  • Dates are randomly determined. Participants are notified via email of dates.
  • Monthly event where medical students, residents and faculty come together to discuss peer-reviewed articles.
  • Currently hybrid. Will resume at off campus location (local restaurant or faculty surgeon’s home).

Morbidity & Mortality

  • Wednesdays (except fourth Wednesday), 7- 8 a.m.
  • Currently virtual. Will resume in Kulas Auditorium when possible.

  • Wednesdays, 8-9 a.m.
