Advanced Training in Abdominal Renal Transplant Surgery

The Transplant Institute at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, affiliated with Case Western Reserve University, offers an ASTS-approved Abdominal Transplant Surgery Fellowship. This is a 2-year fellowship with accreditation in both adult and pediatric kidney transplantation, open and endovascular vascular access, laparoscopic donor nephrectomy and will also provide training in liver transplantation and hepatobiliary surgery.

The fellows have opportunities to participate in the large volume of hepatobiliary cases at our center and will be expected to participate fully in all aspects of patient care including adult and pediatric organ procurement and transplantation, donor and recipient pre-and post-operative care and follow-up.

Our program is supported by advanced practice providers to allow our fellows and residents to focus on clinical and academic training. There is a robust opportunity for both basic science or clinical research with independent research activity expected.
