Barbara DiScenna, MA, ATR-BC, LSW, LPC

Barbara DiScenna, MA, ATR-BC, LSW, LPCBarbara DiScenna is a board certified art therapist with University Hospitals Connor Whole Health, who has additional licenses in social work and counseling through the State of Ohio. She has worked in both mental health and medical health fields for over thirty years, currently focusing on work with oncology and palliative care patients at University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center.

Barbara has developed the University Hospitals adult art therapy program to include community art therapy and art programs for those affected by cancer through grants over the past five years. She has also developed the graduate internship program and supervises participating students. Barbara serves on the Advisory Council for Ursuline College’s Counseling and Art Therapy Program. She has presented at both the American Art Therapy Conference and the Buckeye Art Therapy Association Symposium on art therapy topics related to her thirteen years of work at University Hospitals.

Barbara spends her time outside of work hiking, attending yoga class, meditating and creating pottery, collage art and painting.
