VenaSeal Post Procedure Instructions

Post-Procedure Instructions:

  • You can resume your usual activities.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise (like weightlifting and squatting) for a few days after the procedure.
  • Walk one hour a day, which may be divided into 10 to 20-minute intervals.
  • Keep your dressings on until your follow-up ultrasound. If it rolls down, reapply. If you are having trouble with the wrap, please apply your compression stockings. Sponge bathe during this time only. You can shower thereafter. No soaking in a tub for 7 days.
  • Avoid standing still or sitting with legs down whenever possible.
  • There will be small white strips placed over the insertion site. These can be removed within 4-7 days of the procedure. It is okay if they fall off on their own.
  • For pain following the procedure, you may take over the counter (non-aspirin) pain relievers like Tylenol, Advil or Aleve.
  • Wear compression stockings 24-hours a day for the first week after wraps are removed.
  • Return to your usual diet immediately.
  • If you develop any redness, raised area that is tender to touch, swelling, fever or drainage, please call us at 216-844-3800 or present to the nearest emergency room for evaluation if discomfort or changes are significant.
