Specialized Programs
Fibromuscular Dysplasia (FMD) Program
FMD can cause many different symptoms, including high blood pressure, migraine headaches and pulsatile tinnitus. FMD also can cause arterial dissections that can result in heart attack or stroke. These potential complications make it important for FMD patients to be regularly monitored by an expert team like the one at UH.
Limb Salvage and Amputation Prevention Program
The program transforms the standard of care for “no option” critical limb ischemia (CLI) patients at risk of amputation. UH specialists provide consultation and care for patients with blood flow blockages in the leg, advanced peripheral artery disease (PAD), foot ulcers or gangrene.
Vascular Rehabilitation Program
For better recovery, and to reduce your risk of future vascular problems, our vascular rehab program begins during hospitalization and continues in a safe, supervised outpatient setting. We provide full support to help vascular patients recover and safely return to work and everyday activities.
Advanced Noninvasive Vascular Diagnostic Labs
Our nationally accredited vascular diagnostic laboratories provide the important information doctors needed to accurately diagnose blood vessels disorders and quickly determine the best course of treatment.
Using the latest medical technology available, our registered vascular technologists conduct more than 20,000 noninvasive tests of arteries and veins each year. Diagnostic methods include physiologic or non-imaging studies, such as exercise stress tests, as well as specialized ultrasounds and peripheral, cerebral and coronary angiograms.
