UH CINEMA Patient Resources
University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute’s Center for Integrated and Novel Approaches in Vascular-Metabolic Disease (UH CINEMA) provides an array of resources, such as videos, virtual classes and grocery store tours, to help patients manage their diabetes, kidney and cardiovascular health.

UH CINEMA Patient Education and Support Group
Meets online via Zoom each Monday from 5:30 – 6:15 p.m.
This online group offers valuable information and a forum for patients to interact with our clinicians. Topics range from eating on the run, exercise planning and glucose monitoring to foot and vision care, mental health and more. Video and audio are enabled but participants may opt to turn camera off and remain muted. Questions can be submitted in the Q&A box. Sessions are not recorded.
UH CINEMA Group Health Coaching
Meets online via Zoom each Wednesday from 12 – 1 p.m.
These online group sessions are led by our two National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coaches (NBC-HWCs). Participants will learn to create health goals that align with their personal wellness vision. Video and audio are enabled for group participation.
UH CINEMA Chair Exercise Class
Meets online via Zoom each Tuesday at 12 p.m.
This 20-minute online class is suitable for all ages and fitness levels. All moves are performed while sitting in a chair. Exercises are low impact and intended to help increase cardiovascular endurance, muscle strength and flexibility. Participants will be provided with resistance bands to use for these sessions.
UH CINEMA Chair Yoga Class
Meets online via Zoom the first Friday of each month from 1:30 – 2 p.m.
This 30-minute online class is suitable for all ages and fitness levels, including beginners and those looking for a safe and easy way to exercise. All moves are performed while sitting in a chair.

UH CINEMA Grocery Store Tour
Hosted by UH CINEMA dietitians and nurses, tour the sections of the store and discuss healthy eating options, how to purchase produce, tips to save money and discover new products. Samples provided.
UH CINEMA Food as Medicine Cooking Series
Join us for a free six session series. Each hands-on cooking class is led by Sodexo Chefs and Jodie Porges, Registered Dietitian. Learn essential skills for preparing whole food, plant-based meals to prevent or reverse chronic conditions like obesity, diabetes and heart disease.
UH CINEMA Lunch and Learn
Enjoy lunch and a cooking demonstration as part of this interactive session. Tips, recipes and a list of recommended books and websites will be shared to help you further understand the content covered and how to incorporate the information for your overall wellness.
Cardiometabolic Webinars
UH CINEMA presents virtual webinars, featuring team experts and other nationally recognized guest speakers on topics related to metabolic, cardiovascular and kidney health.
