Supporting Patients Who Take High-Cost and Complex Medications
University Hospitals Specialty Pharmacy supports patients who are taking specialty medications. Our highly trained staff work closely with you and your physician to ensure that you receive the medications prescribed to you and follow the guidelines for taking them.
Have questions or need prescription refills?Call 216-765-2784 or email UHPatientSpecialtyRx@UHhospitals.org
Our goal is to remove any potential obstacles to your treatment.
We will work with your insurance company to cover the cost of your medications. This is called “prior authorization,” “pre-approval” or “pre-certification.”
Even with insurance coverage, your out-of-pocket costs may be high, depending on your insurance plan. We work with manufacturers, advocacy programs and charities to see if you are eligible for any financial assistance.
Our technicians handle the shipping and delivery details of your specialty medications and monthly refills. We can provide you with your medications when you visit your UH clinic or deliver them to your home free of charge.
Our program offers monthly refill reminders, ongoing clinical monitoring and 24/7 general pharmacy support to help you succeed with your medications.
UH Meds, LLC was created in 2019 and offers a range of pharmacy services designed to support a patient’s medication needs in the outpatient setting. UH Specialty Pharmacy Makes It Possible
“These meds are also what keep me going and if not for the assistance of the UH Specialty Pharmacy, I would not be able to afford them. I would never have known about the financial assistance available. From day one, I decided that I wanted to make this journey with dignity and the oral chemo allows me to do that.” ~Pat D
