Designed for adults 18 and older whose diabetes is managed by a UH endocrinologist or primary care provider, this service provides timely support for diabetes concerns, including high blood sugar or insulin care plan issues.

Connect virtually with a UH endocrinology diabetes team provider, conveniently from home. The program is currently available on the following days and times:
Monday: 1 – 4 p.m.
Tuesday: 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Thursday: 1 – 4 p.m.

Who We Treat Virtually
Adults 18 and over who have a diabetes diagnosis that is managed by a UH provider are eligible to video chat without an appointment.
This service is not for:
- Individuals who have not been diagnosed with diabetes.
- Individuals whose diabetes is not managed by a UH provider.
- Individuals with gestational diabetes, diabetes insipidus (DI) or MODY (maturity-onset diabetes of the young).
- Individuals at risk for diabetes or who have pre-diabetes.
- Anyone under age 18.
Affordable Virtual Care
UH Diabetes on Demand connects patients with the UH endocrinology diabetes team through secure, same-day virtual visits. Each visit is billed as a standard outpatient appointment, giving patients flexible options for care.
Payment Options:
- Insurance: Visits can be billed to most medical plans, with standard copays and deductibles applying. Many plans count virtual visits toward your deductible or cover part of the cost.
- Self-Pay: Pay $65 per video visit upfront without using insurance.

Diabetes on Demand visits can be joined from anywhere that’s convenient such as home, work or school. Due to licensing requirements, you must be physically located within the state of Ohio at the time of service to use UH Diabetes on Demand.
