Meet the CAR T-cell Therapy and Stem Cell Transplant for Myeloma Team
The malignant hematologists at UH Seidman Cancer Center have expertise in CAR T-cell therapy for treating multiple myeloma that has returned after a period of improvement (relapsed) or stopped responding to treatment (refractory). CAR T-cell therapy takes white blood cells, called T-cells, from a patient’s blood and modifies them in a lab so that they recognize and destroy myeloma cells and other cancer cells.
