Streamlined Care for Children with Colorectal Conditions
Managing complex conditions in children requires collaboration among pediatric specialists for optimal patient care. Each specialty contributes unique expertise tailored to specific conditions. A multidisciplinary approach provides significant benefits in enhancing care and improving quality of life.
The UH Rainbow Colorectal Care Center aims to reduce the burden on families by decreasing the need for multiple hospital visits. Our team includes pediatric surgeons, urologists, gynecologists, gastroenterologists, psychologists, social workers and specialized advanced practice providers.
These specialists collaborate to deliver high-quality, family-centered care. The team meets monthly to evaluate referrals, discuss complex cases and establish an individualized care plan for each patient. Specialized nursing teams communicate with families to discuss the plan and answer questions.
