The UH St. John Medical Center Internal Medicine Residency program accepts PGY-1 applications through ERAS and selects candidates through the NRMP Match. The program is listed in ERAS as University Hospitals Community Consortium Program (UHCC/Westlake) Internal Medicine Residency. Positions will not be offered outside of the NRMP Match.

Application Requirements

The following materials are required via ERAS prior to interview:

  • Completed ERAS application
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Medical school transcript
  • Personal statement
  • MSPE (Dean's Letter), released by medical schools in October
  • COMLEX and/or USMLE score reports

The program is unable to accept applications requiring J-1, or H-1B visa sponsorship.

ERAS Application

Applications are submitted through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service). This is the preferred application pathway for all candidates applying within the standard match cycle.

Interview Process

Candidates are interviewed by the Program Director, Associate Program Director, core faculty members, and/or Chief Residents. All interviews are conducted virtually via video conferencing.
