Education & Training

fellows trainingThe Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center Hematology and Oncology Fellowship is an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)-accredited program.

Program components include:

Clinical Training Focus in Both Medical Oncology and Hematology

We are proud to initiate disease team-based rotations for fellows. The first year is focused on clinical training in both medical oncology and hematology primarily in the inpatient hospital setting. In the second and third years, trainees then focus on specific disease areas based more in the outpatient setting with disease-specific experts at the UH Seidman Cancer Center. Research and academic career development are emphasized; we expect (require) that all fellows will have at least one first-author publication or a presentation at a major meeting by the time of graduation, based on their scholarly activity.

ACGME Board Certification Requirements

Fellows in our program graduate eligible to board in both Hematology and Medical Oncology.
