Department Benefits

The Anesthesiology Residency Program at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, in collaboration with Case Western Reserve University, provides the following additional benefits:

• True Learn subscription for the ABA Basic/Advanced exams
• Anesthesia Toolbox subscription for 4 years
• CWRU Library/Clinical Key for electronic versions of a multitude of anesthesia text books
• Education Fund $1000 per academic year
• Extra-departmental financial support for any presentations at conferences

Moonlighting Opportunities

There are multiple opportunities for moonlighting within and outside the anesthesia department. Residents in their clinical anesthesia years can volunteer for “late duties,” as well as operating room shifts during evenings and weekends. Additionally, senior residents can take pager call for cardiac and pediatric coverage. Our surgical and cardiothoracic ICUs have flexibility for night float coverage. Furthermore, starting PGY-1 year, residents may participate in additional admitting shifts for the Department of Internal Medicine, including acting as house physician for the nearby, world-class Cleveland Orchestra at Severance Music Center.
