Why did you choose UH?: I had the awesome opportunity to do an AI at UH. All of the residents and faculty were fantastic and took the time to teach and make me feel like member of the team. The feeling of camaraderie throughout the classes and specialties was very evident. The cases were diverse and I got to see pathologies that I thought I’d only see in textbooks. UH has plenty of fellowship opportunities as well, so it would be great to stay and further my education here without having to move my family. Cleveland itself it a great place as well; it always has something going on or new things to try and the cost of living is great on a resident's salary.

We have a huge variety of cases: OB, pain, transplants, peds, critical care, plastics – you name it. I am fully confident I will finish this program as a well-rounded anesthesiologist prepared for the craziest cases.

The pay is great, the city has a friendly Midwest culture, Cleveland gets lots of snow (which I enjoy), and it is centrally located to friends and family.

Why did you choose UH?: UH was my favorite interview. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and their anesthesiology program had everything that I was looking for, including the 5-year Critical Care Track that I am a part of. Coming from California, the Midwest was always a mystery to me, but between Milwaukee and Cleveland it has become my home.

Why did you choose UH?: The energy from everyone I met during the pre-interview social and interview day itself was incredibly positive, warm, and welcoming. The residents had a great sense of camaraderie and the faculty seemed truly invested in resident education and well-being. I’m also excited to explore a diverse new city while still being within driving distance of my family.

Why did you choose UH?: UH is close to home while still giving me a chance to explore a new city and environment! Interview day and the resident meet and greet was very friendly and I could immediately feel the camaraderie between residents and staff.

Career Interests: I love general anesthesia at its core, but I’m keeping an open mind for fellowships as I go into residency! I could see myself falling in love with peds or regional.

Real Interests: scouring the planet to find the best dog park for Jackie, exploring new coffee shops or making pour over coffee at home, trying new restaurants, the New York Times daily crossword, and spending time with my fiance, friends, and family.

Why did you choose UH?: I felt so energized after my interview at UH - everyone I spoke to was very warm and welcoming. I could tell the residents were happy, the faculty were enthusiastic and engaged, and I had the overwhelming feeling that I would thrive in this environment! I knew I would get a well-rounded education and leave residency feeling confident and prepared. Bonus points for being close to my family in Pittsburgh!
