  • Triage - process of determining the severity of condition

  • Treatment – every patients receives treatment from a doctor or mid-level practitioner
  • Reevaluation – evaluate test results to determine type of treatment
  • Discharge - receive instructions to follow after leaving the emergency room

Training in Emergency Services
UH Geneva Medical Center, in conjunction with the UH EMS Institute, is the region's leader in training and emergency care protocol development. Our emergency staff works closely with the region's EMS providers. ER physicians provide medical direction for over 30 EMS squads.  Due to our strong collaboration with the EMS community we have been able to enhance our ability to provide life-saving care.
