Breastfeeding Services and Support Group at Elyria Medical Center
Breastfeeding is one of the most essential experiences for babies and mothers for their physical, emotional and developmental well-being. Mothers have described breastfeeding as being a beautiful and natural experience that builds confidence in mothering and the bonding between baby and mom.
How Does the Support Group Help Breastfeeding Moms?
Unfortunately, mothers have told stories of breastfeeding being a time of fear and frustration or expressed fears of beginning breastfeeding. Today’s mother may not have someone close to her who has breastfed. People in her life may not feel that breastfeeding is the best thing for baby and mom or understand the valuable benefits of breastfeeding as well as the support moms needs.
Pay Attention To How You Feel
If you are feeling uncertain or nervous about breastfeeding, you’re not alone. Many women feel this way and it is completely normal.
Participating in a support group can help you feel comfortable, well informed and confident in your ability to successfully breastfeed your new baby.
