The UH Division of General Internal Medicine provides superior quality patient care, maintains high standards of education and teaching and pursues health services and clinical research so as to create an environment that is conducive for learning. Such an environment helps us to build long-term caring relationships with our patients, and encourages professional development and scholarship in the field of clinical and academic general internal medicine.

The division is home to a very diverse group of physicians whose professional interests span across multiple areas of general medicine including clinical medicine, health services and outcomes research, hospital medicine, primary care and chronic disease management, preventive medicine, patient safety and quality improvement, healthcare disparities and medical education.
