Cancer Prevention & Cancer Control

The goal of the Cancer Prevention, Control & Population Research Program is to decrease cancer incidence, morbidity, mortality and effect on quality of life by:

  • Identifying barriers and developing interventions that affect the delivery of cancer detection and prevention services in the primary care setting.
  • Developing mechanisms to facilitate the use of technology in genetic screening for cancer risk.
  • Identifying markers for cancer incidence.
  • Developing approaches to increase utilization of cancer prevention and detection services among underserved populations.

The Cancer Center provides participation in a variety of prevention trials.
