University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center is the only freestanding hospital in Northeast Ohio dedicated exclusively to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and hematologic disorders. University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center is a founding member of the National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated Case Comprehensive Cancer Center at Case Western Reserve University, one of 49 centers in the United States designated by the NCI as a Comprehensive Cancer Center. This prestigious honor requires that those designated undertake a wide breadth of research in laboratory, clinical and population-based research, genome research, as well as significant trans-disciplinary research that bridges these scientific areas.

UH Seidman Cancer Center is also a member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), an alliance of the world’s leading cancer centers. Our cancer specialists are able to provide ongoing improvements in diagnostics and treatments because of these important alliances and our dedication to research and discovery. With cancer specific clinical trials, we can also provide treatment options that are not available elsewhere.

Fast, Efficient Access to Care, Innovative Programs, & New Cancer Therapy

We guarantee all patients will be offered an appointment within seven business days. Our efficient access to care is paired with the advanced expertise of our nationally renowned physicians, state-of-the-art technology, innovative programs and access to cutting-edge clinical trials. With same-day diagnostic results for breast and prostate cancers and other cutting-edge approaches such as genetic tumor testing, we are the most comprehensive network for cancer treatment in the region.

As the only center in northeast Ohio to offer proton therapy, an advanced form of radiation therapy, we are able to deliver concentrated doses of radiation, with fewer side effects. Especially effective for young patients, proton therapy targets your cancer more precisely with minimal damage to surrounding tissue and has little or no impact on your energy levels.

Our team is also pushing the development of new therapeutics through a collaborative effort with Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. This innovative program brings together biochemists, pharmacologists, pathologists, medicinal chemists and clinical oncologists to bring new cancer-fighting medicines to patients sooner.

All patients can expect their individual cancer, regardless of its severity, to be thoroughly reviewed by an entire team of cancer experts. Once a review has been completed, an individualized comprehensive treatment plan will be designed.

Proven, established treatments such as radiation and chemotherapy and cutting-edge anti-cancer therapies such as stem cell therapy, immunotherapy and genomic medicine may all be considered when appropriate.

On a weekly basis, our disease-focused experts in surgical oncology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, nursing, social work and psychology come together to develop and review integrated care plans that are specifically tailored to each patient.
