Meet the Allogeneic Transplant and CAR T-cell Therapy for Leukemia Team
The malignant hematologists at UH Seidman Cancer Center have expertise in both allogeneic transplant and CAR T-Cell therapy for treating leukemia. An allogeneic transplant uses stem cells from a family member or an unrelated donor to replace leukemia cells in the bone marrow. CAR T-cell therapy takes white blood cells, called T-cells, from a patient’s blood and modifies them in a lab so that they recognize and destroy leukemia and other cancer cells.
