Child Life Services Offers Practicum and Internship Opportunities for Students
The Child Life Student Program at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital has two different opportunities for students pursuing the child life profession: a practicum and an internship. Applications for both of our programs are accepted three times each calendar year – spring, summer, and fall.
Our Family and Child Life Services Department is dedicated to the University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center mission: To Heal, To Teach, To Discover. Our student program is committed to providing an enriching experience that will support students on their way to becoming a Certified Child Life Specialist. Our student program is further supported by a Child Life Student Committee made up of Certified Child Life Specialists and by the Child Life Student Program Coordinator.
Each member of our multidisciplinary team within the department is a part of the student experience at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. Students are mentored by Certified Child Life Specialists and all supervisors meet the requirements set forth by the Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP).
We follow the ACLP guidelines relating to application deadlines and offer dates. Please confirm these dates on the ACLP website. No application will be considered after the listed postmark date.
Prior to submitting an application, we strongly encourage potential applicants to contact us for our student program status. We also encourage applicants to thoroughly review all information on the application process and our student program located here on our website.
