For more than three decades, the University Hospitals Podiatric Medicine & Surgical Residency Program has been committed to developing highly skilled, confident, and well-rounded podiatric physicians and surgeons. What began in the late 1980s with a graduating class of just three residents has grown into one of the largest and most successful podiatric training programs in the United States. Based at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center, our fully accredited, three-year residency provides an intensive, hands-on surgical education combined with comprehensive clinical training. Residents rotate throughout Cleveland and the surrounding communities, gaining valuable experience in diverse urban, suburban, and rural healthcare settings. With the support of more than 40 dedicated allopathic, osteopathic, and podiatric faculty members, residents are exposed to a broad range of patients, pathology, surgical procedures, and practice environments. Over the years, University Hospitals have trained more than 250 podiatric residents, with graduates now caring for patients in nearly every state across the country. Our mission is simple: To Heal.
