Advanced Training in Foot and Ankle Surgery

This podiatric fellowship is one of two offered by UH Geauga Medical Center. The Podiatric Advanced Foot and Ankle Reconstructive Surgery program is one of only a select few in the U.S. recognized and approved by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education.

The program began in 2010 as an advanced fourth-year fellowship; the participant must be a graduate of a three-year residency program. Currently, candidates are interviewed and we now accept two fellows. The two-year fellowship will include surgical, clinical and research exposure.

Program Director

Curriculum & Features

The fellowship’s extensive training curriculum goes beyond basic podiatric surgical techniques. Learners gain experience with highly specialized surgical treatment of lower extremity trauma and reconstruction of the rear foot and ankle. The fellowship is a heavily concentrated, hands-on experience – one-on-one, in the operating room – with the program’s attending director, and with an emphasis on each fellow’s special clinical interests.

Participants care for surgical patients at several University Hospitals medical centers and surgery centers in a diverse set of urban, suburban and rural environments in Northeast Ohio.
