Welcome to the Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center Reproductive Biology Residency Program at University Hospitals MacDonald Women's Hospital. We are one of very few women's hospitals in the country and proud of our heritage and tradition of training outstanding obstetrician-gynecologists. The goal of our training program is to develop residents to become excellent clinicians, independent thinkers, teachers and leaders in OB/GYN.
For the past 15 years, as long as I have been chair of "Mac House" (as we affectionately call our hospital), we have developed a culture of teamwork and transparency in our collegial relationships, and emphasized patient safety and quality in our care model, putting the patient in the center of our care circle. Highlights of our program include: a large integrated network of OB hospitals in our health system which funnel complex cases to Mac House; a well-developed Global Health Program with a sister OB/GYN residency program in Guyana, South America; subspecialty fellowship programs, a strong clinical faculty and a commitment to teaching from our specialists, generalists and nurse-midwives.
We are proud of our graduated residents. Many have returned to our full-time faculty after completing their subspecialty training elsewhere. We feel this is a reflection on our culture and our excellent faculty. The residency director, Kimberly Gecsi, MD, and I both have an open door policy and welcome your comments and questions after touring our website.
