Dr. Laura Schapiro is excited to remain a part of the UH/Rainbow Med-Peds program as Associate Program Director after recently graduating from the program and serving as chief resident during the 2021-2022 academic year. She serves as a Primary Care Med-Peds physician at the UH Suburban Health Center and also provides care for patients at the Rainbow Ahuja Center for Women and Children in the Adolescent Medicine Clinic. Additionally, she will be co-directing the pediatric residency advocacy track this year. Her advocacy interests include the promotion of physician civic engagement and the effects of climate change on health.
Dr. Schapiro is originally from Cincinnati, OH and received her undergraduate degree and Master’s in Public Heath from the University of Virginia. She completed her MD at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She has achieved board certifications from both the American Board of Internal Medicine, as well as the American Board of Pediatrics.
Dr. Schapiro resides in Cleveland Heights with her husband.
