Child Care Center at UH Parma Medical Center

For more than 40 years, the Child Care Center has supported caregiver families so they can support the health of the community. Offering convenient hours for working families, including members of the public who do not work in healthcare, this Center is a second home for children 6 weeks to 5 years old, as well as school-age children during school breaks. The Center is licensed by the Ohio Department of Children and Youth.

Children are cared for and educated in separate classes for infants, toddlers and preschoolers, with a creative curriculum that focuses on developing natural curiosity and a love of learning in each student. Teachers bring specialized expertise in early childhood development and utilize consistent routines, modeling, and redirection to help children develop self-regulation and problem-solving skills. They utilize intentional programming with a balance between teacher-led activities and child-directed play. Lesson plans are aligned to Ohio’s Early Learning and Development Standards and support individual learning.

Located in a former Parma City School District building, the Center is designed for a full spectrum of school activities, including:

• Hot meals – breakfast, lunch and snacks (from the cafeteria)

• Auditorium for family events and preschool graduation

Open Monday – Friday, 6:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
