Using Next Generation Sequencing, genotyping is available for HCV, HIV, and H. pylori to direct therapy selection. Viral genotyping is available to order through the electronic medical record. H. pylori genotyping is ordered reflexively on any gastric or duodenal biopsy demonstrating organisms by light microscopy. In addition, highly sensitive and specific SARS-CoV-2 RT PCR testing is performed on a limited basis in support of the UH system-wide COVID-19 pandemic testing strategy.
