Testing the Addition of a New Anti-Cancer Drug for Advanced-Stage Cervical and Vaginal Cancers
CONDITION: Advanced-stage cervical and vaginal cancers
A Randomized Phase III Trial of Radiation Therapy and Cisplatin Alone or in Combination with Intravenous Triapine in Women with Newly Diagnosed Bulky Stage IB2, Stage II, IIIB, or IVA Cancer of the Uterine Cervix or Stage II-IVA Vaginal Cancer
The purpose of this study is to confirm the effectiveness of the combination of triapine with usual cisplatin and radiation therapy in patients with advanced-stage cervical or vaginal cancer.
Who Can Participate
Participants 18 years and older diagnosed with advanced stage adenocarcinoma or adenosquamous carcinoma of the uterine cervix or the vagina not amenable to curative surgical resection alone may be eligible for this study.
