University Hospitals Offers In-Depth Surgical Training Through One-Year Colorectal Surgery Residency
The Colon and Rectal Surgery Residency at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center is a nationally recognized program in Colon and Rectal Surgery. The program trains one ACGME board eligible resident per year. Our program has a strong tradition of training future leaders of Colon and Rectal surgery. The training includes exceptional experience in abdominal surgery including re-operative pelvic surgery from rectal cancer to re-do ileopouch anal anastomoses. Residents have an extremely strong experience in minimally invasive surgery including cutting edge techniques such as transanal mesorectal resections. At the same time, the Resident has a strong experience in the basics of colon and rectal surgery including endoscopy, benign anorectal disease and pelvic floor.
With this residency, there are a plethora of research and academic opportunities during the year, including opportunities to travel and present at national meetings.
