Rachel Pope, MD, MPH consults with a patient

Some patients have had multiple attempts at repairing their injuries from childbirth and are still not happy with their outcomes. Whether you need medication, pelvic floor physical therapy or surgery, our team will be with you throughout your recovery and restoration of health.

The UH Female Sexual Health team also has the surgical expertise and advanced training to repair vesico-vaginal and recto-vaginal fistulas. Although these complex birth injuries occur most often outside of the United States, this type of injury is sometimes seen in this country and women do not know where to seek help. Our team of surgeons, psychologists and pelvic floor physical therapists will work together to optimize your care.
