Your First Appointment for Gallbladder Cancer
If you have been diagnosed with gallbladder cancer, it is very important to begin treatment as soon as possible. And because the first step in cancer treatment is often surgery, consulting with a University Hospitals surgical oncologist should be your first priority. Your surgical oncologist will work closely with other team members of our experienced team of cancer specialists (e.g. medical oncology, radiation oncology, etc.) to develop your treatment plan.

Therefore, the University Hospitals Surgical Oncology team wants to ensure that every patient with cancer has the same access to us that our own family would have.

Next Steps for Your First Appointment with a Surgical Oncologist
After completing the form below or calling 216-286-3870, our surgical oncology patient liaison will contact you to setup an initial phone call or virtual consult with a surgical oncologist.
After you have been introduced to your surgical oncologist with this initial conversation, we will then set up your first appointment. Our team will let you know what medical records (biopsy report, imaging results, etc.) we will need at this time.
During your appointment, you will meet with a surgeon to discuss your diagnosis and treatment options. By the end of your appointment, your surgeon will provide you with their expert recommendations and your next steps for receiving the care you need. We encourage you to make a list of questions and concerns you may want to discuss with the surgeon.
