Education & Training
First Year
The first year emphasizes pediatric allergy and immunology while providing a strong foundation in adult clinical care. Fellows begin with a dedicated Fellows Bootcamp, followed by foundational coursework in genetics, genomics, and biostatistics, integrated with clinical activities throughout the year. In the spring, fellows have the opportunity to further develop their understanding of immunology through participation in the Federation of Clinical Immunological Societies (FOCIS) Immunology Course.
Clinical training includes rotations in pediatric pulmonology, otolaryngology (ENT), and dermatology at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, providing broad exposure to pediatric subspecialty care. Fellows also gain experience in adult allergy and immunology through selected outpatient clinical experiences. Fellows will also engage with nationally recognized external educational programs and advanced coursework that complement the fellowship curriculum.
Second Year
The second year transitions to a primary focus on adult allergy and immunology, with fellows developing advanced expertise in the diagnosis and management of complex allergic and immunologic disorders. Fellows rotate through adult pulmonology, otolaryngology (ENT), and dermatology at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, expanding their experience across a broad range of adult subspecialty conditions.
The year also includes dedicated training in bone marrow transplantation and flow cytometry, providing fellows with focused, hands-on experience in advanced immunologic evaluation and the care of patients with complex immune disorders.
