Erin Murphy received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from John Carroll University in 2007 and MSN in Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Case Western Reserve University in 2012. She completed the Public and Community Psychiatry Fellowship at Case Western Reserve University in 2013, among the first nurse practitioners to graduate from the program. She became faculty in 2016.

Erin is currently an Associate Director of Psychiatry at The Centers. She began her career there as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in community mental. Since joining the organization, she has led several initiatives such as a high utilizers intervention program, which provides intensive clinical attention to patients who frequently use inpatient and emergency medical services, as well expanding internal MAT services. She also was a lead clinician for integrated care clinics in partnership with Cleveland Clinic. The Centers is now affiliated with Circle Health Services, a federally qualified health center, and Erin has taken on work providing integrated care for the SMI population, assisting clinical workflow revisions to emphasize true clinical and administrative integration.

Beyond training and mentoring in this fellowship, Erin has also focused on role socialization and advanced skill development of newly graduated nurse practitioners within The Centers. After completion, Erin accepted the Mentor position in the fellowship, and in 2020 was promoted to Director.
