Dr. Mattar is the Section Chief of Rheumatology at the Louis Stokes Cleveland Veterans Affairs Medical Center (LSCVAMC) and Associate Professor of medicine at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. She received her medical degree from the Lebanese University Faculty of Medical Sciences and completed her fellowship in geriatric medicine and rheumatology at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center (UHCMC).
Dr. Mattar held the position of University Hospitals/VA Rheumatology Fellowship Director from 2020-2024; her utmost commitment and dedication is to teach. Dr. Mattar's scholarship focuses on how immune activation impacts cardiovascular health in the setting of Rheumatoid Arthritis, and the outcome of COVID infections in patients with autoimmune diseases.
When not at work, she likes to spend her time with her family enjoying outdoor activities such as hiking or biking, or relaxing and watching a family movie.
