Clinical Training across Facilities

Clinical opportunities are matched to the resident's interests, career goals and field of prior clinical training. Clinical sites include Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center, where residents have the opportunity to participate in shared medical appointments focusing on diabetes and hypertension management and the Cuyahoga County Board of Health, where residents can participate in Title X, travel and vaccine clinics.

Elective Experience Opportunities

Preventive medicine residents also have the option of completing elective experiences offsite. Current and past residents have completed rotations with the Health Resources and Services Administration and the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) Program, based at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). Others have gone abroad to places such as Guatemala and Malawi. Opportunities are available with additional governmental agencies including the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
