Visitor Services at UH St. John Medical Center

At University Hospitals St. John Medical Center, we strive to make things as easy and comfortable as possible for our patients and their families, as well as their guests. We do this by providing a variety of visitor services, including flexible visiting hours, convenient parking and other amenities. Find out more about the various visitor services available below.

Visiting Hours at UH St. John Medical Center

General Medical and Surgical Areas

8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Some flexibility allowed; check with nursing station.

Skilled Nursing Unit

Open visiting hours.


11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Parents can visit any time and one parent can stay. As a general rule, children under age 14 are not permitted to visit. Siblings may visit at arranged times with permission of charge nurse and are restricted to the patient's room.


Visiting hours are flexible. Fathers, siblings and grandparents have unlimited visiting privileges. Only two visitors allowed in the room during labor. Children under 14 years of age that are not siblings are not able to visit.

CCU Acute and CCU Step-down

8 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Immediate family only; two visitors at a time. Phone calls permitted. No flowers; balloons and artificial flowers are allowed.

Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

9 – 10 a.m.
Noon – 1 p.m.
4 – 6 p.m.
8 – 9 p.m.

Immediate family only; two visitors at a time. Visitors must stop at ICU/CCU waiting room and call to ICU station for permission to visit. Must be over 14 years of age. No flowers, no phone calls; transfer calls to nursing station.
