Laboratory services are provided for all inpatient areas and the Emergency Department.
Convenient outpatient hours for blood draws are also available:
Monday – Friday: 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Saturday: 7:30 a.m. – noon

The Laboratory at UH Richmond Medical Center, a Campus of UH Regional Hospitals plays an extensive role in the treatment of patients. The lab is responsible for screening cholesterol levels, monitoring glucose levels, analyzing chemical levels for patients taking medication for high blood pressure and many other conditions, identifying disease-causing bacteria and performing compatibility testing for blood transfusions. Our highly trained phlebotomists obtain the blood to be tested from patients, while the medical technicians and technologists use advanced instrumentation and state-of-the-art systems to attain accurate, timely results.
The laboratory is CLIA-certified and accredited by CAP (College of American Pathologists) for the following Laboratory Medicine specialties:
- Automated chemistry
- Special chemistry
- Transfusion medicine/immunohematology
- Anatomical pathology – including surgical pathology and cytology
The technical staff consists of registered Medical Technicians/Technologists requiring Associates and Bachelors degrees, as well as certified Phlebotomists. UH Richmond Medical Center is proud of the fact that 70 percent of the laboratory staff have over 10 years of experience.
