Central Registration
Minimum age: 15
Monday – Friday, between 7 a.m. – 11 a.m., 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Greet and direct patients that check in for lab work, outpatient surgery, or financial counseling. Assist lab guests with kiosk sign in (basic computer skills helpful).

Dispatch
Minimum age: 15
Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 12 – 4 p.m. Take calls from nursing areas needing transporter, lab deliveries, etc.; mostly sitting job for someone with good phone skills.

Emergency Department Patient Comfort Rounder
Minimum age: 18 or at the discretion of manager
Daily 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., 2 p.m. – 6 p.m., 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. Provide comfort services and information for patients, their families, and visitors to the Emergency Department. Provide non-medical assistance to staff.

Gift Shop
Minimum age: 15 (18 for Cashier duties)
Monday – Friday; during Gift Shop hours. Assist stocking shelves, pricing, cleaning, cashier.

Kent and Streetsboro Health Centers
Minimum age: 16
Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. Kent Health Center: welcome and direct patients at lobby reception desk; assist with wheelchair transport. Streetsboro Health Center: sort and deliver mail, assist staff with clerical needs and deliveries.

Main Lobby Information Desk Receptionist
Minimum age: 18 or at discretion of manager
Sunday – Saturday, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m., 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. or 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Welcome patients and visitors; provide patient information in person and by phone; direct visitors to various departments for testing and visiting patients; good phone and computer skills required.

Nursing Unit Patient Comfort Rounder
Minimum age: 16
Sunday – Saturday, 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. Assist with patient needs by rounding, talking with patients, answering call lights, running errands, etc.

Outpatient Surgery Assistant
Minimum age: 17
Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Assist outpatient surgery staff with support services, clerical duties, preparing carts, stocking shelves, etc.

Spiritual Care
Minimum age: 18
Sunday – Saturday, flexible hours. Under the supervision and training of the Chaplain, visit patients and provide spiritual support as needed.

Radiology Department Patient Assistant
Minimum age: 16
Monday – Saturday, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m., 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. Escort patients for procedures, miscellaneous duties.

Musical Arts Team
Minimum age: 17
Flexible schedule. Positively impact the patient/visitor experience through live instrumental music in designated areas of the hospital. Musical Arts Team volunteers should not only be excellent musicians, but also have a desire to give the gift of their music as a service to others.

Medical Arts Building/Professional Center Reception Desk
Minimum age: 16
Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. Greet visitors and direct to appropriate offices/departments. Assist with escort/wheelchair transport of patients/visitors as needed.

Office Clerical Assistance
Minimum age – 15
Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; hours and locations vary. Duties may include filing, collating, copying, phone dispatch, computer data entry, preparing mailings, etc. Examples of department/location areas include Human Resources, Administration, clinical departments, and Foundation.

Seidman Lab Runner
Minimum age – 15
Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. Responsible for timely transport of labs between Seidman Cancer Center and Main Lab.

Surgical Waiting Room
Minimum age: 18 or at discretion of Manager
Mon – Fri, 7 a.m. – 12 p.m or 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. Maintain communication between patients going into surgery, their families, the physician, and the operating room staff. Provide a pleasant atmosphere for waiting families.

Transporter– Main Hospital or Endoscopy Department
Minimum age: 15
Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 12 or 12 – 4 p.m. Main Hospital: Wheelchair transport for patients being discharged; assist visitors by escorting or transporting in wheelchair to their designations; lab deliveries, and comfort requests. Endoscopy: Transport patients discharged from procedure area; assist in clean bed-making.
Professional Center: Transport patients discharged from outpatient surgery; assist in clean bed-making.

Volunteers at Your Service
Minimum age: 15
Monday – Friday, 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. (and flexible weekend shifts) Responsible for the “Volunteers at Your Service” phone line responding to requests from nursing units for patient discharge, lab deliveries, and comfort requests; greeting and escorting visitors at information desk.

Veterans Visitation Program
Minimum age: 21
Flexible schedule. Visit patient floors to recognize veterans for their service. Provide resources and opportunity for veterans to share their stories.
