Portage Medical Center Foundation Makes $1 Million Challenge Grant to UH Portage Medical Center
In November 2016, the Portage Medical Center Foundation awarded a $1 million Challenge Grant to UH Portage Medical Center to support the renovation of the hospital's Emergency Department. It is the largest gift in the hospital's nearly 100-year history.
Renovations will cost an estimated $2.5 million and support a designated pediatrics waiting and exam areas, distinct from adult waiting and exam areas. Renovation plans also call for the build-out of secure exam areas for patients requiring mental health or addiction care services.
